Drug name: ED pack (generic Viagra, Cialis and Levitra)

Therapeutic effects:

Viagra (Sildenafil citrate), Cialis (tadalafil) and Levitra (vardenafil) – all these medications belong to a group of medicines called PDE5 inhibitors. Realization of physiological mechanism of erection lies in release of nitrogen oxide in the cavernous body during sexual stimulation. This leads to increase of cyclic GMP levels, following relaxation of smooth muscle and increase of blood flow to the penis.

PDE5 inhibitors work by inhibiting the enzyme - phosphodiesterase type 5 which breaks down cGMP and thus increase cGMP concentration helping achieve natural erection.

PDE5 inhibitors are effective only in presence of sexual stimulation.

Indications:

Generic Viagra, Cialis and Levitra are used to treat erectile dysfunction in men over 18 years old. ED medications should not be used by women to treat sexual problems.

Adverse Reactions:

General side effects of all PDE5 inhibitors include:

• Headache
• Hot flashes
• Dyspepsia
• Back pain
• Nasal congestion
• Myalgia
• Pain in the arms or legs

Other less common side effects include: angina, insomnia, vertigo, skin rash, blurred vision, migraines, prolonged or painful erection.

Drug interactions:

PDE5 inhibitors may interact with the following groups of drugs:

• Nitrates
• Blood pressure medications
• Alpha blockers
• Xanthines (theophylline)
• Protease inhibitors
• Certain antifungals
• Macrolide antibiotics
• Antituberculosis drugs
• Quinidine

Cautions and restrictions:

General contraindications for all PDE5 inhibitors include:

• Cardiovascular disease
• Liver diseases
• A history of a heart attack, stroke, or life-threatening arrhythmia within the past six months, hypertension, hypotension
• Retinitis pigmentosa
• Blood diseases such as: sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, leukemia
• Priapism
• A history of severe vision loss, including a condition called NAION
• Penis deformations such as angulation, Peyronie's disease, or cavernosal fibrosis
• Allergic reactions to PDE5 inhibitors
• Women and males under 18 years of age

Additional information:

Generic Viagra, Cialis and Levitra should be stored at room temperature out of reach of children. Do not use the medications after expiration dates.
